As my shoes go clack

Femininity is only socially accepted in one model, and even if you fit into that model, it’s not necessarily appreciated. You have to look beautiful, like certain things, and at the same time you learn that if you do, you won’t be taken seriously. Being feminine has not been feminist for a long time. In 2023, pink is the trend color and “bimbocore” is political self-determination. Clearly, normative femininity was never the problem, but the compulsion to embrace it and how we learn to value it. Is it possible to eliminate prejudice through self-determined gender expression and redefine how we value normative femininity? This book textually and visually reflects and questions the devaluation of feminine aesthetics, interests, and behaviors. Models: Manuel Nitzschner, Elena Rohloff, Sophie Schaible, Noah Sinning

Modular Type Design

Terra 101 and 204

A homage to vases that my mother made. The vases inspire the shapes of two fonts. One interprets the vases from the front view, the other from above. The essential characteristics of the vases are reflected, the symmetry and the hollow body character. The two typefaces are completely different in appearance but still complement each other. They translate the vases into two-dimensional characters in different ways. Terra 101 and Terra 204 are each based on a kit of type elements. The modules result in unique, constantly evolving signs. The digitally created lettering kits are supplemented by manually produced stamps. Two collections of analogue and digital print products are created that show the variability of the type systems. Awarded with a silver medal by ADC Talent Award 2022. More Information

Revers

“Revers, backs of portrait photographs around 1900” is dedicated to otherwise secondary motifs. This book shows a collection of backs of so-called “Cartes de Visite”, portrait photographs, which were fixed on a cardboard measuring 6×9 cm. The reverse sides of these photographs served as advertising space for photographers. In most cases lithographers were responsible for the typographic design of the cards.
